Special: New Riva-flo GPP40

Introducing the new GPP40, the easy to install automatic pump that helps you put all your precious tank water to good use.

The GPP40 is a self-priming pump that automatically switches on as soon as you turn your garden taps on. And because it operates under constant pressure, watering your garden or even washing the car with tank water is quick and easy.

Pump Test Facility

In the next AEM Newsletter we will be showing off our new pump test facility. This equipment is currently being tested and calibrated, and we expect full scale operation in the next 2 weeks!

Does motor efficiency drop
1-5% after a rewind?
(continued from last newsletter).

In 2003, EASA and Nottingham University conducted extensive testing to see if rewinding a motor with good practice repair methods actually had any significant effect on motor efficiency.

Results

The 22 new motors studied were divided into four groups to accommodate the different test variables:

Group A
Six low-voltage motors (75 - 112 kW) rewound once. No specific controls on stripping and rewind processes with burnout temperature of 350°C.

Group B
Ten low-voltage motors (45 - 150 kW) rewound once. Controlled stripping and rewind processes with burnout temperature of 360°C - 370°C.

Group C1
Five low-voltage motors (75 - 150 kW) rewound two or three times. Controlled stripping and rewind processes with burnout temperature of 360°C - 370°C.

Group C2
Two low-voltage motors (5.5 kW) processed in burnout oven three times and rewound once. Controlled stripping and rewind processes with burnout temperature of 360°C - 370°C.

Group D
One medium-voltage motor (225 kW) with formed stator coils rewound once. Controlled stripping and rewind processes with burnout temperature of 360°C - 370°C.

The test results summarized above show no significant change in the efficiency of motors rewound using good practice repair procedures (within the range of accuracy of the test method), and that in several cases efficiency actually increased.
